Western Theme Room

I'm planning to transform my older boy's bedroom into a cowboy's world, replete with some of these items: boots, hats, spurs, metal stars, horses, lariats, rope, bandanas, denim, general store, open plains, buckboard, wagon wheel, cowhide and some lovely framed art.  Use textures such as leather, tweed and heavy canvas helps carry the cowboy theme and provide a durable solution for any boy.  Cowgirls can get in on the act, too, with the addition of skirts, side-saddle and perhaps more of a pink instead of barn red.

Paint
For the background, use a light to medium tan, with a darker tan over the top with a faux finish.  You can buy suede paint or duplicate the look yourself.  Try a washing technique for an easy way to add depth to the walls.  Accent with barn red and denim blue.  Khaki/leather color with the addition of dark brown in spots for definition.

Teepee
Attach to wall & drape out with branches for poles and a large dream-catcher at top.  Use a faux suede bedspread in brown or tan for the “skin” covering.
