What's Happening in the Greenhouse this Month

What’s happening in the Greenhouse this Month:

  • Time to plant pansies, ornamental cabbage and kale for cool weather color in the garden.
  • It is not too late to plant spring blooming bulbs in the ground.  We still have a selection of daffodils, tulips, allium and crocus . . .
  • Continue to pull out any annuals that have finished for the season
  • Cut back any perennials that have finished for the season
  • Rake the beds, removing dead leaves and branches
  • Put a light coating of mulch over the crowns of the perennials
  • Replenish mulch to a depth of 1 ? inch around the flowerbed.  We recommend starting the mulch a couple of inches away from the stem or trunk of the plants
  • We also recommend storing any clay or ceramic pottery for the winter months in an area where the temperatures are above freezing.
